Thanksgiving At My House
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday in the United States. It’s a time to be thankful for all of the blessings in my life. This year is especially different at my house, because my oldest daughter has moved out and gotten her own apartment with one of her friends.
It’s bitter sweet really, you see she graduated early and it’s very rewarding to watch her grow up to be a responsible person. It also starts another chapter in her life and mine. She has lived with me for 17 years. I miss her when she’s not here, but I also love that she is growing up and taking action in her life.
My youngest daughter is learning how to drive and just got her first job.
I am thankful that they both decided to eat at my house this year. We had my mother-in-law over for Thanksgiving dinner and both girls were here. It was nice. Every other year we have my mother-in-law over alternating years for Thanksgiving and Christmas. That way I don’t have to eat two huge meals on each holiday.
Next year I will go to my Mom and Dad’s house for Thanksgiving, and spend time with my sisters, nieces and nephews, my girls usually go along for that celebration as well. Although, my oldest may be doing something different with her life by then. Time will tell what she decides to do and where she wants to go. I am proud of her for everything she has accomplished so far in her life.
